EURAMI Accreditation
EURAMI performs voluntary accreditation of public or private air medical services.
The Accreditation Standards are periodically revised criteria to assess an air medical services level of quality. In order to guarantee that the service continues to meet these criteria, re accreditation is performed every 3y.
Accreditation evaluates the following points :
• Program capability, scope and ethics
• Medical management, training & qualifications.
• Aircraft operations and logistics.
• Communications,
• Management policies,
• Quality control & management
Accreditation takes into account the specific requirements for fixed wing and rotor wing aircraft operations.
The Standards are based on legal standards of the European Union (European Standards, e.g. EN 13718-2), international expertise, and the experience of leading European air medical services.
The accreditation process
Accreditation is a three step process
1. Sign up on the website.
A 350€ non refundable fee will be requested.
2. Complete the online questionnaire.
This questionnaire documents all aspects of the program.
3. A 1 to 1 1/2 day site audit is performed by our auditor
This is programmed within 6 weeks of completion of the questionnaire.
The auditors report is sent to the EURAMI Board reviewers and a decision is sent to the applying air medical service within four weeks of receiving the auditors report.
EURAMI seeks proof of claim of substantial compliance, i.e. that the air medical service demonstrates a high overall level of quality of service.
This level of quality of service must be consistent with the EURAMI Accreditation Standards and the professional judgement of the EURAMI Board.
Types of Accreditation
There are two levels of accreditation
Full Accreditation:
An air medical service demonstrates substantial compliance with the EURAMI Accreditation Standards. Full Accreditation is granted for three years.
Full Accreditation “special care”:
In addition to substantial compliance the service demonstrates proven capabilities in air transports of special high risk patients (e. g. IABP, ARDS, neonates, NO ventilation etc.) providing continued high level care.
